Queer Alliance

DESIGNER & ORGANIZER

The Queer Alliance is a coaliton of 8 undergraduate student groups at UCLA. As a member of QA, I participated in the discussion and action of LGBTQ aware spaces.

In 2012, I designed and made clothing for the Anti-Fashion show. My designs were created mostly out of alternative materials such as news paper, trash bags and caution tape. They reflected on the gender roles imposed on society, specifically to femmes.

The fashion show was used not merely as a way of showing off people’s designs or bodies, but rather, to make a larger point about what our bodies represent as a queer person, and how our fashion shows the world what we think of ourselves.
